Updating AMP Stack for MacOS Sierra

Had to finally bite the bullet yesterday and update from MacOS Yosemite to Sierra. The only reason I was avoiding it is that I did not want to got through the pain of updating my AMP stack. It took the better portion of a day, but I was able to get through it with this guide.

One thing I skipped in this guide was setting up the userdir module and configuration as I essentially set ~/Users/myusername/web as the DocumentRoot via httpd-vhosts.conf

I re-established my vhosts with this second guide.

And lastly I had to reset the timezone config for my PHP installation by adding the following to /etc/php.ini:

; Defines the default timezone used by the date functions
; http://php.net/date.timezone
date.timezone = America/Edmonton
